Bottle, about a year and a half old. Chocolate caramel, nutty nose, a bit tart. Tasty nutty caramel flavor, fruity, and a sourness that tells me it’s past its prime, though the tart aspect works well enough.

Draft. Deep brown/black body. Tan head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of roasted malts, sweet coffee, milk. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, moderate carbonation. Herbal flavor, along with a some metallic acidity, in the finish. Dry and drinkable but less than notable.

Growler pours courtesy of dcschiller, thanks Dave. Pours somewhat opaque copper to gold with off white head. The aroma has pretty smooth ginger bready notes as well as a bit of sweet crystal malts in the background. The taste has malt sweetened smooth ginger that rolls toward less sweet malts and slightly brighter and bigger ginger notes to midway and into the finish. I’m not a big fan of ginger enhanced foods or drinks but I’m liking this just fine.

Very dark colour. Looks quite appetizing. Chocolatey nose. Chocolatey, fudgey stout with light roast at the back and a generally sweet finish. Not getting much sweet potato but this is good stout.

Draught, Avenue Pub. Amber and bright. Smells quite gingery. Light ginger and toasty malt character. Rye finish. Good brew - it works.

12oz bottle. Hazy orange-brown. Thin beige head. Caramel and nuts in the aroma, some sugary orange. Rather simple and inexpertly executed Brown Ale. Thin, medium body. The pecan is there, giving it a little individuality. Inoffensive, quite sessionable, with some sweet sugary brown malt in the finish. Subtle, but can’t really hang with the World Class big boys.
