Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.
We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!
Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!
Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

Poured from an undated 16 oz can.
Aroma is hop forward and fairly fruity with balanced dank, oily notes as well. Lots of gooseberry, tropical citrus, passion fruit, guava and grapefruit. Quite a bit of nelson sauvin dank, oily, resin notes with some lighter pine notes. Light cracker malt and alcohol notes.
Pours a hazy, murky, golden orange with a large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers in clumps on the edges. Moderately high lacing and small legs.
Flavor is somewhat sweet with light cracker malt notes. Medium high bitterness and light alcohol notes. Quite a bit of grapefruit and tropical citrus with lighter notes of gooseberry, passion fruit and guava. Lighter dank, oily resin notes with some pine as well.
Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid hazy IPA. Great hop aroma, but I wish the flavor was a bit more nelson forward. Balanced malt notes and bitterness. Alcohol is fairly well hidden.

The great fresh hopperomas are short lived. After that there are still a little hops, straw, and malt. Flavors are similar to nose, citrus, resin, and a hint of MJ. Just slightly more sweet than bitter with good pilsner carbonation. Kind of a cross between a West Coast IPA and a good pilsner. Nice beer.

Pours a hazy, lemon-pineapple, with smallish head. Aroma is juicy citrus, tropical fruit, some white wine spice. Flavors all follow. Mouthfeel is clean and fairly crisp--might be a touch on the thin side? Moderate hop bitterness carries through the finish.

Pint can pours with an opaque gold colored body that supports a nice bright white head. The modest aroma offers up tangelo and clementine citrus notes as well as some guava and cantaloupe tropical fruitiness. The taste delivers pleasing levels of tangy to bitter hop citrus notes coming from a tangelo to clementine character. Behind that lurks thin layers of soft sweet funky guava and cantaloupe tropical notes. This attains the old school hazy taste profile where there's little to no sweetness (that has been plaguing the style for years) but plenty of tangy and bitter hoppiness. I dig it.

Can from Tavour. Pours black with a large foamy tan head. Aroma is somewhat chocolate. Med body. Flavor is dark malt with a dab of chocolate. Floral hop. Surprisingly towards dry, and nicely bitter with some Noble notes. A bit prickly/tingly. Very nice flavor.
