Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.
We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!
Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!
Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

Poured from a 16 oz can dated January 02, 2024. Aroma is fairly malt forward with lots of biscuit, crackers, and lightly toasted bread. Light grassy, floral hop notes and hints of alcohol. Pours a rather clear, copper-good color with a medium large, thick, frothy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers on the edges. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with moderately strong malt notes of toasted bread, crackers, biscuits and hints of honey and caramel. Medium bitterness and light alcohol notes. Light floral, grassy hop notes. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid kellerbier. Nice malt notes in the aroma and the flavor with some balanced hop character. Alcohol is well hidden.

Aromas are a blend of resin, citrus, sweat and tree bark. Flavors are similar to nose, great balance between bitter, sweet and carbonation. Full mouth. Bittersweet finish. Been done many times before but still a nice beer.

Tap at Gourmet Haus. Pours black with minimal brown head. Very faint ring is retained. Aroma of chocolate and coconut. Flavor is massive sweetness, with bakers chocolate, dusted cocoa, coconut and vanilla. Sweetness is over powering here and is too much.

On tap at Chuck's CD, pours a clear pale bright golden with a small white head. Aroma has some oxidation, earthy wild yeast, and some sweatiness. Flavour is much the same, with plenty of wild yeast, rustic notes, some oxidation, citrus, and oak. Reasonably constructed, with a citrusy, oxidized, rustic finish. Nicely blended and constructed but leaves some room to be improved to compete with the big league saison brewers.
