Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.
We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!
Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!
Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

16oz can. Pours hazy yellow with white head. Aroma has some grapefruit, a bit floral. Flavour is also pretty citrus forward; a bit murky. More juice than hops.

16oz (thx, Brian!) @ Matt's house. Variant with Strata, Equanot, Citra, Simcoe & Galaxy. Appearance: cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma: tropical fruits, some sweetness, a bit earthy. Taste: along the same lines, nice juiciness, no bitterness. Overall: good one (just a bit thin for DIPA).

16 oz. can, pours an opaque yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of stone fruit pith, some light dankness, a touch of citrus, and tropical notes. Flavour is somewhat juicy, with tropical fruits, stone fruit pith, some sweetness, and I guess some hops (?). Very fruity and juicy, but lacks hops. Not what I want, but it's fine for the style.

Can pour from Valley Beverage (this version w/o Enigma). Opaque dark yellow with decent head, fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is citrus, white grape, musty herb and late hint of pine. Taste is strong musty fruit, less distinguishable than the aroma. Smooth, somewhat thin body/texture, no sign of alcohol, soft carbonation and slightly pasty finish. Decent but, given the lineage, this seemed like it would be an All Star. With no date, hard to know if age may have contributed.

I should have ordered more of this! Damn good private press vibes mixed with delicious cellarmaker flavor. Tawny port, chocolate & caramel, hints of tobacco and toffee on the finish.
