Fonta Flora Brewery integrates the soul of agriculture with the artisanship of zymurgy to create a menagerie of rustic and savory libations. With an emphasis on seasonal flora, Fonta Flora brings English tradition and Belgian inspiration to the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina.

Fonta Flora utilizes local artists to help conceptualize the notion that fermentation is yet another medium for creating art. This uniquely artisan approach to beer yields a sustainable product filled with culture from our very own community.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Clear golden colour, thin white head and aroma of citrus, fruits. Taste is tart and sweetish, orangey, lemon, lime, slightly salty, with some pale malt hints and light bitterness. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, drying sourish citric bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Lots of the tequila barrel makes it out with the raisiny barleywine notes, almost tangy but more fruity than chocolatey.

Thick sweet and sour stonefruit and strawberry flavors, gnarly blend without being too acidic.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Near clear deep brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, light, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Mellow smooth dark malts, a mild but pleasant dark chocolate streak. Touch of smoke on the back end. Smooth finish. A pleasant if pretty standard affair. Apples? No apple character here for me. Well maybe a very light niff on the light and semi dry finish. A decent beer but a let down expectation wise after reading the description. Too subtle!

29/3/2025. Can from Left Field Beer. Pours clear pale gold with a short lasting frothy white head. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, lime, herb, salt, seaweed, hint of rubber. Medium sweetness, light tartness. Moderate body, quite lively. Interesting and does give a paloma theme.

Pint can from Appalachian. Forgot about it for a few months, canned 11/18/24. Sipped 3/28/25.

Clear, medium gold, thin foam.
Syrupy sharp, lemon herbal-honey nose, mild astringency.
Earthy, light acid, dirt, mild citrus pith, honey, lingering mellow astringency.
Low carb, a touch creamy, mellow but apparent heat, off-dry.

Meh.
