Description
First brewed in August 2008. A 5BBL plant was used. The brewery closed in Spring 2023, with the site being sold to the owners of Harwich Town Brewing Company and Witham Brewery who set up Wharf Brewery.

Bottle, Lot 455, from Two Brews in Colchester. Clear black body with a brownish shade, beige bubbly head, rings of lace down the glass. Roasted dark malty nose, hints of dark fruits beneath. Black chocolate flavours, hints of liquorice and dark fruits. Roasted bitterness to the ending. Likable. (Hotel room, Colchester 13.07.2017).

Clear dark golden color with a small tan head on top. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a soft carbonation level. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Bready ish, mild mild citric and mild fruity flavor.

Maldon Beer Fest, Cask. Clear paleish gold beer, bubbly white head. Palate is light and has reasonable fine carbonation. Sweetish light malts, sweet floral. Pear and bubblegum esters. Floral citrus, emphasis on floral. Trace of regular citrus. Light finish. Pretty floral but quite drinkable.

Cask ale by hand pump, half pint at Railway Tavern in Chelmsford. Golden-brown body, low, off-white head. Herbal hops and mid-sweet malty nose. Taste of grainy malts and lemony hops followed by a rather short, bittersweet ending. Easy to drink. True to the the style (17.02.2017).

Gravicask at Chelmsford & Mid Essex Beer Festival. A beige bubbly head covering a clear golden-brown body. Caramel smell with a buttery touch. Mid-sweet brown malty taste including coffee and caramel, followed by a slighly roasted bitter end. Rather thin in the mouth. Okay (16.02.2017).
