Jesus, when does the punishment end? Why bother? The aroma in this is brutal. Unabashed booziness. This is probably the worst stout I’ve ever had. Pours dark brown with no lacing, no head. Finishes slightly sweet. Aroma malt that tastes lagery with unbalanced booze and strange malt. I was willing to show a good spirit through the lagers and bitters, but this is straight abuse. More of an amber ale than a brown. No taste other than mildly sour leave. Aroma only malt. Very boring with some booze in finish. Pours reddish copper. On tap at brewpub.

Below average pale ale. Slight aroma of hops. Pours copper with a little lacing. Not really very serious of a pale ale. It’s more pale than ale. On tap at brewpub.

Boozy mouthful though I imagine this isn’t that hardcore on alcohol. This isn’t really eve a bitter. Unbalanced and messy, and generally not very good. On tap at brewpub.

A little less likeable than the Arctic Ale. Looks the same with some clear gold pour but this one has lacing. Some candied maltin aroma. Somewhat more like German trash than Canadian trash. Bordering the line of offensiveness, Booze comes through in finish. On tap at brewpub.

Poured from 650mL bottle (lists 9.5% alc./vol.). Clear amber colour with very quickly dissipating white head. First hit of aroma is green apple, also some molasses and malty caramel. Taste is a boozy sweet syrup, quite dry and mild.

Black color, small brownish head. Light aroma of roasted malts. Good flavor of roasted malts and dark chocolate, semi-dry; I like the bread and creamy notes that go with it; correct bitterness. In the final is a bit sweeter, and it produces notes of tobacco, and just an acceptable hint of liquorice.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 10% ABV
Amber color, hazy, with small compact head. Light aroma of malt, caramel and candi sugar. Good body strength, round mouthfeel, with good caramel flavor, some malt, a hint of fudge; correct bitterness, with light vanilla and butter finish. A bit perfumy too. Balanced final, medium sweet, a bit nutty.
Pleasant English style Barley Wine.
