Dark amber colour. Light aroma is fairly one-dimensional, showing caramel almost exclusively. Medium body but light flavour, again largely of caramel with only a vague earthiness as a backdrop. There is sufficient richness to the flavour and body, enough to avoid the usual amber ale sensation of wateriness, but it’s too limited conceptually to achieve any status beyond ordinary.

Hazy yellow colour. Strong mandarin and coriander nose. Lightly fruity, wheaty flavour profile. A fairly mild, but balanced wit.

Dark brown, no real head to speak of. Aroma of demerara, with hints of prunes. The flavour is toffeeish, slightly earthy with notes of brown sugar and light chocolate. Not all that roasty - has a foreign-stouty kind of character. Hint of black malt tartness in the finish.

Light golden-brown colour. Slight brown sugar sweetness and hints of earth are the main features. Bland, caramelly with vague English hop earthiness. Fairly sticky finish. Some underattenuation problems at the brewery these days? Sad, this used to be a beauty back in the 90’s.

Light amber colour. Lifeless appearance - no carbonation to speak of. Fairly light in flavour. Surprisingly bland, I found myself struggling to notice anything at all about this beer.

Dark amber with slight reddish hue. Strong raspberry aroma. Light body with hints of dark malt underneath a predominantly fruit-syrupy flavour. There is a slight malt chewiness in the finish that salvages things somewhat, but I’m not into it.

Golden-amber colour. Slighlty woody aroma. Sweetish start - syrupy but then turns very bitter late with hints of woody dryness...but still residual sweetness that clashes with the hops. Cloying IPAs...not my thing.

Hazy dark brown colour. Straightforward malty/hazelnutty aroma. Strange body - both full and thin, like you’d find in a nitro beer, but this was a firkin. I guess both have low carbo. No worries though, I’ll be at the brewery next month. The flavour is mainly about carastany malts and a light nuttiness. Doesn’t appear anything wrong with the beer, but a standard brown ale is just so uninspiring for me.
