tap at the brewpub - Pours clear yellow with a thin head and a light malt aroma. There’s a little lacing. The flavor has light malt, mild hops, and there’s a crisp finish. Unimpressive.

Tap. Pale golden, low lacing head. Very light hop nose, a hint of malt when it warms. Malt base is lacking, a bit toast. Dry grassy finish. Even less carbonation than most ungespundetes I have tried. Mellow, almost flat, 6 week long lagering period is only good if you have a full body to begin with.

Dark brown colour. No particular head and looks kind of flat. Malty aroma is a strong but simple dose of brown sugar, with light fruit and alcohol accents. Flavour is very sweet, not-quite-chewy brown sugar notes and a bit of earthiness. Really sticks to your mouth. Alcohol comes in late and fairly restrained, not surprising given the weight of the malts. Rich, thick and simple.

Dark amber colour. Light aroma is fairly one-dimensional, showing caramel almost exclusively. Medium body but light flavour, again largely of caramel with only a vague earthiness as a backdrop. There is sufficient richness to the flavour and body, enough to avoid the usual amber ale sensation of wateriness, but it’s too limited conceptually to achieve any status beyond ordinary.
