75cl bottle. Pretty clear red amber, fine carbonation, huge tanned to golden head. Pleasant bubblegum, berry aroma, light dust. Medium body, fine sparkly, dry, light caramel roast, sweet berry, fruit, , bubblegum aftertaste. Lightly too sweet in the finish in my opinion. Still, drinkable.

33cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Malty and fruity with almost candy-like hoppy notes; hints of herbs and citrus. Medium to moderate sweet with balanced flavours and bitterness. Quite drinkable.

Klare rötlich bräunliche Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, hefiger Geruch mit Karamell. Geschmacklich malzig, hefig, würzig mit Karamell. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Bottle 33 cl. Pous a clear amber with a creamy, off-white head. Malty nose with a hint of licorice - distinctly Belgian. Medium body, some dark, dried fruit - again distinctly Belgia - but with a cloyingly brown sugar sweetness. No bitterness whatsoever. The sticky sweetness makes it very hard to drink. 130324

Sampled on tap at Max's Belgian Fest 2024 is a clear caramel brown with a clump of white head. Nose has caramel and candy and dates and spice. It's big. Flavor proves that. Dates and raisins and cloves and caramel and malt and candy. Full bodied and sticky on the finish.

Sampled at Max's Belgian Fest 2024, clear caramel brown with some clumpy white head. Nose as plum wine and caramel and candy sugar and clove. I like this. Plums and dates and prunes, caramel, malt, candy. Finishes sweet, creamy and medium bodied. Successful.

Clear to little cloudy orange beer, a big solid creamy off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very floral, yeasty, reminds me of a Blanche de Namur, rose water, lots of coriander. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very yeasty, floral, a little bitter, floral, sweet, rose water. Aftertaste: sugary, more yeast, a bit malty, spicy, coriander.

Yearly special edition of the classic Belgian blonde abbey ale Corsendonk Blond (formerly Agnus), this time (2023) with Mistral d’Alsace, an Alsatian hop variety; 75 cl bottle from the Colruyt in Sint-Denijs-Westrem. Moussey, snow white, opening, bit irregular head, crystal clear warm golden robe with ‘old gold’ tinge. Aroma of sweetish cereals, grass, red apple, straw, sweetclover, honey, vague grapefruit zest, green pear peel, dried field flowers. Clean onset, sweetish ripe pear, some kiwi and vague banana ester but sleek and straightforward, with lively carbonation and smooth, slick body; cereally middle, a basic pale maltiness with a layer of honeyish residual sugars on top, working towards a mildly grassy, floral hoppiness in the end with a bit of soft lingering bitterness, but still quite dominant general malt and residual sugar sweetness too – lasting longer than the hops, in fact. Granted, the aroma and aftertaste are indeed a bit hoppier than is the case in the regular Corsendonk Blond from what I remember, but ‘grand’ is definitely an overstatement here… Decent enough, though – for a very ‘commercial’, mass-marketed blonde Belgian ale, that is.
