Mistakenly ordered the 750ml: going to be a long night... Another volcanic ale, waiting for the head to go down... Nice dark red with a strongly lacing head. Not a very strong nose on this: maybe it's the persistent head that's suppressing it. Dark malts, sweetness, liquorice, dried fruits. Very boozy taste in the mouth and in the throat. Dark malts, raisin, dark fruitcake, liquorice in the mouth. Long lingering aftertaste. Good

Grand Hops...grand hops...cette version 2023 ne m'a pas réellement subjugué. Si on retrouve les bases d'une bonne bière belge avec notamment un alcool bien présent, la structure est déséquilibrée notamment par une acidité trop présente. Le visuel est sur un blond limpide avec une fine effervescence moyennement soutenue et une mousse blanche de 3 mm. Le nez est sur les céréales, le citron, la coriandre et de légères herbes. En bouche, si l'ensemble est frais et aérien, c'est une sensation brouillonne qui reste. Si l'alcool, à 6,9 % a du tempérament, l'acidité vient quelque peu brouiller tout cela. Cela laisse une impression étrange de ne pas savoir où l'on est.

330ml bottle from Tønne, Leicester. Light to mid-gold and clear with a slightly fluffy white head. Spicy aroma, a little bit of the wonderful candy sugar yeast. Taste is sweet with honey, sugar syrup, light notes of banana. Slightly watery body with crazy high carbonation. It's not a particularly complex recipe but I do like it.

Serious gushing to huge cream-coloured head over deep copper-amber beer, very carbonated and textbook lace. Sharpish peppery malts, dry hops, caramel, banana. Caramel, sweet malts, almondy.. Finish is a tad peppery, white pepper. Again sweet banana, brioche. Very carbonated, quite slick, even a bit sticky. Faint alcoholwarmth and -burn. Average. Txs to Stef!

Huge, dense, stable just off-white head over lively carbonated, lightly veiled golden beer. Faint dusty hops, nettles, pale & lightly toasted malts, pineapple ester. Sweet, malty, faint alcoholsweetness; again these dusty hosp, human sweat, DMS, seafruit. Very slick, very light alcoholwarming, very carbonated. Typical run-of-the-mill Du Bocq. Not bad.

Fles gedronken tijdens weekend scouting. Roodbruin helder bier met flink schuim dat als een film blijft liggen. Aroma van kersen. Smaak is zoet, fruitig (kersen) Nasmaak is eveneens zoet en fruitig.

On tap at Bier Paleis Brugge. Haze deep gold colour. As 7.5% Esters throughout. Light peach and some earth. Good sweet nectarine finish. Pretty good stuff. Refreshing after a 3 hour drive from Maastricht. Yep good solid strong blond. Good fruit and slight spice flavour.
