(Bottle 33 cl) Pale, hazy, golden beer with a decently sized, creamy head. Sweetish malt in the beginning but then you get to feel the hops - and this is one hoppy beer. Some yeasty, earthy notes. Decent ale if not exactly spectacular. 040399

(Bottle 25 cl) Dark amber coloured with a red glow and a small off-white head. Slight acidic nose but overall very malt accentuated - some roasted malt - with a small lingering tartness. This is much softer and sweeter than what I usually associate witrh a Flemish sour. Closer to an Abbey Dubbel actually, although without the body, without the power. But a very nice beer indeed. 200299

(Bottle 25 cl) At first this appears to be a light ale of the "Speciale" type, same clear, dark reddish brown appearance, same alcohol level. But this has much more aroma, more flavour - almost perfumy. Wonder if this has some spices added. Never cloying though - just a cute little ale. 100299

(Bottle 25 cl) Brown with a shade of grey, nice, off-white head. Yummy roasted malt in both aroma and flavour, some spicy sweetness - almost trappist-like - with a good bite of hops to add balance. A nice full-bodied beer in spite of the low alcohol - for a Belgian ale that is. 131098

(Bottle 25 cl) Brownish beer, with a small off-white head. Lots of roasted malt in here with flavours of brown sugar and some nuttiness. Short, dry finish. Pleasant ale. And actually it’s called "Special" not "Speciaal". 050398

Bottled, redbrownish, with a beige/brown longlasting head. Smelled like plum and berries along with some soapish hints. Flavour was sweet plummy with caramellish hints. It got a bit bitter once it got warmer, with different sweet flavour becoming more present.

(Bottle 25 cl) A Scotch style Christmas beer - that’s a first for me. But very typical Scotch ale: dark brown - close to black actually - with a decent, creamy, brownish head. Strong, sharp flavours of licorice and burned malts - almost coffeeish. An underlying sweetness that never prevails. 250198

Hazy deep amber in colour with a strong ruby tint & super dense tan head-very nice looking! Aroma of malt, sweet fruit, caster sugar, grapes and some yeast. Medium-bodied; Full malty flavour gives way to very bitter alcohol and spices. Aftertaste shows that unfortunate bitterness & metallic twang. Overall, looks very nice and even smells good-but the taste just isn’t there! Good to try regardless. I sampled this 33 cL bottle pulled from the four sampler pack purchased at Village Pump Liquors in College Park, Maryland on 02-February-2005.

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark amber, with a big, brownish head. Very full-bodied and aromatic from the malts. Some fruitiness and light, sweet caramel - but overall the dryness dominates. Very discreet hops in the finish. 091197
