6 ounce at Washington Street location - still purple pour - nose of fig, plum, treacle, whiskey - slick mouthfeel - taste is a little syrupy, but dries slightly through the middle as spicy notes set in, along with some brighter fruitiness - moderately warming - cherry, plum, treacle, whiskey, spice - quite nice as it warms.

Tap at Washington Street location - clear amber - faint lace - nose is moderate clove and pepper along with dark fruit - flavor is rich bready malt, dark plumy fruit, followed but a drier finish with clove and pepper - lingering cherry fruitiness - not as complex as some of the better German examples, but tasty.

Waxed capped 375 from Tavour. Pours clear and ruddy with a creamy tan head. Aroma is toffee, citrus, and other things. Full bodied. Creamy. Citrus, toffee and other things. Like strawberry? Maybe. Complex for me and difficult to parse. Heat for sure. But it's quite smooth and acceptable heat. This is really good ale.

Capped 375 from Tavour. Pours clear copper/amber with a very transient white head. Aroma is somewhat like sherry. More than med body. Not dry but avoids sticky. Not bitter, but the firm heat helps hold back the malt. Flavor is much like sherry. Tasty ale.

375ml bottle pours out amber topped with a small sand head. Nose is nice sweet caramel toffee rich bourbon barrel vanilla notes. Taste is more of the nice sweet caramel toffee some pitfruit bourbon barrel.

375ml bottle at share. Clear mahogany pour, fine ring of beige foam. Malty aroma, toffee, whiskey. Taste is sweet, caramel, light chocolate, malty with mellow boominess creeping in late. Smooth.

Waxed, capped 375 from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, whiskey, dark malt and some dark fruit notes. Full bodied. And somewhat sticky. Heat is at a pleasant level and offsets all that malt. Chocolate persists. Whiskey rather than bourbon for me. Great flavor.
