4 ounce at brewery - black pour with moderate lace - slick mouthfeel - sweet and warming - lots of molasses, dark fruit, light tannic notes, a touch of umami - a lot of oak, chocolate covered cherry, whiskey - a light red wine acidity cuts through the sweet - warming finish - it’s really good - like maybe what World Wide Stout tried to be back in the day - remember that one year it got up to 21% - yeah, this is better.

6 ounce at the brewery - black pour with tan lace - creamy texture - lots of sweet chocolate - the “cake” qualities are decidedly present but not overpowering, nor is the sweetness - chocolate, vanilla, light coffee - vanilla finish, with slight bitterness and roast to balance - actually quite balanced and enjoyable for something that calls itself a “cake” stout.

Can from Tavour. Pours very dark brn with a moderate tan head. Aroma of burnt malt and chocolate. Med body. Very roasty/burnt malt but not sweet. Bitter from the malt and perhaps some coffee. Tasty lager.

Capped 375 from Tavour. Pours clear orange gold with a very large off-white head that went from creamy to foamy. Aroma is rather floral with some herb notes. Med body. Dry. Somewhat bitter. Flavor is floral/herb with some yeast/clove spice. A little honey. Very nice.

375 mL bottle, shared with Timmy. Pours a murky, brown color, with no real head. The nose is brown bread, heavy leather, allspice, and dates. Dry and musty, with a hard, earthy bitterness. Heavy, hard, and drying. Abrasive, dried out, and not terribly pleasant.

Bottle from Tavour. Near black pour, beige ring of head. Aroma is roasty, with light fruity notes. Taste is roasty, mild sweetness, faint fruity flavors and a bone dry finish. Right in the wheelhouse for the style.

Bottle pour. Pours dark brown with a small white head. Tons of whiskey & bourbon, brown sugar, sweet Belgian yeast on the nose. Flavour has an absurdly rich barrel character, good Belgian yeast character, dark sugars, some charred wood, a bit smoky. This is excellent, great barrels here.

Poured from 375mL bottle (side by side with Double Barrel Aged Father Time (2024)). Dark brown with minimal beige head (slightly lighter than the double barrel). Whiskey forward aroma. Taste of mild dark fruits, underlying whiskey barrels, fairly smooth, thin-medium body, it has booze, but feels around 13%, decent.

Poured from 375mL bottle (side by side with Vicennial III: Father Time (2023)). Dark brown with very minimal beige head (slightly darker than the single barrel 2023). Woody whiskey aroma, a bit more depth here. Taste has dark fruits, woody vanilla underlay, slightly more boozy finish, there is slightly more depth.
