8 ounce at the Blake Street location - deep ruby, nearly black pour with a moderate lace - nose of whiskey, blueberry, vanilla creme, chocolate - flavor is deep whiskey oak, vanilla, tannic fruitiness, chocolate, slight vinous character - long, warming finish - it’s nice.

8 ounce at Blake Street location - clear gold - lovely nose of honeyed maltiness and floral hops - cleaned, rich malt character, with warmth but not booziness - hop character that brings some floral notes and spiciness - green raisin - a tiny bit hot on the back end, but overall tasty.

Tap at the Blake Street location - clear amber with a soapy lace - a lot of earthy British maltiness, with an almost peaty quality on the tail end - a bit of treacle, but actually surprisingly dry and earthy - a bit of caramelized sugars and dark fruit on the tail end, along with light warming alcohol - good not great.

Draft at Blake Street location - clear medium gold - nose of wood, honey, spice, baked apples - definitely has some sweetness, as you’d expect from something so strong, but still surprisingly dry overall - quite peppery/spicy, lightly floral/herbal, a bit of honey and green raisin - sweetness returns in the finish, which also has some lingering pepper and alcohol warmth - I dig it.

Waxed, capped 375 at 16.9% from Tavour. 2021 Vintage. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight dark tan creamish head that did persist. Aroma of whiskey, smooth burnt malt, heat and a touch of chocolate. Quite full bodied. Flavor is brown sugar, heat, whiskey, burnt malt, wood astringency, and a light chocolate note. Nicely done.

Capped 375 from Tavour. Pours clear dark brown with a slight creamy tan head that fizzed away. Aroma of sherry/toffee and whiskey that seems rye. Full bodied. Flavor is heat, toffee, brown sugar, malt and non-musty wood notes. Heat is prominent. It's not dry, but not sticky. Heat and roasty malt seem to stand in for bitter. Not getting banana, but there is a hint of yeast/spice (clove) that has to be sought for. Good stuff.

Sweet sweet boozy heaven, 14% hidden by smooth molasses just how I like my strong ales errrr stouts. No roasty overdose like 2019, guess 2 years did the trick, but not sure when I copped this one really.

Damn they didn't hold back the chili peppers in this and I love it for that. But the cinnamon is alright, gives the nose a weird note. But but the chocolate is staaaacked and delish.
