Tulip at Washington Street location - a surprising amount of vinous character to this, followed by strong but not overpowering whiskey - some chocolate covered cherry - vanilla - coffee - finishing strong in the whiskey department, but also a little cloying on the back end.

12oz can from Tavour (2022 11%). Almost black pour, fizzy, creamy beige head. Instant aroma of coffee greet you at the pop of the top, aroma is pretty much straight coffee also.Taste begins with coffee bitterness, followed by a burst of sweet notes. Coffee bitterness continues throughout without any respite. maybe light chocolaty flavors, but mostly coffee. Even though Im not a coffee drinker, it has enough of an upside for me to get through to the finish.

Bottle from Tavour. Pours clear dark brown with a moderate creamy beige head. Aroma of roasty malt, chocolate and coffee. Arguably full bodied. Flavor is roasty malt, coffee, chocolate and dark fruit notes. Not dry, but not sticky. Malt/coffee bitter. Smooth, elegant and tasty lager. Yum.

Bottle. Black pour with a small beige head that quickly dissipates. The aroma is strong with classic porter notes of anise, licorice, burnt sugars, dark fruits and a bit of whiskey barrel. The taste mirrors the aroma with lots of smooth anise, raisins, bit of burnt cocoa, bitter walnuts and bourbon. The palate is full and creamy. Finishes long with lingering bitter black malts. Paired superbly well with a Comte type of cheese. Overall: Decent quaff. compares well with the best impy stouts and porters. I need to try more from this brewery.

Bottle from Tavour. Pours translucent gold with a nice, lofty white cream head. Aroma pie spice - definitely including allspice and clove. Med body or nearly. Flavor is very, very pie spice. Allspice, ginger, cinnamon and more. Quite strong flavor. Dryish. Spice stands in for bitter. Thankfully I do not detect squash. Good brew.

Tap at the Washington Street location - listed as 12.8% abv - lightly hazy medium gold with a soapy lace - over the years, this brewer has proven that they can do Tripel quite well, and they’ve done a good job with this one despite the strength - there’s so relatively high sweetness, but it is clean and light, like honey, not heavy and cloying - moderate spiciness and fruity esters - notes of pear, candied orange, jasmine, light herbal spiciness - lingering citrus and honey finish, finally closing with warming alcohol and spiciness - I quite enjoy this.

Tap at the Washington Street location - dark brown pour with a soapy lace - soft carbonation, medium body - quite sweet, with notes of vanilla crème, blueberry, chocolate - black malt bitterness and roast arrive late, but never entirely balance the sweetness - finish of lightly spicy Turkish coffee - it’s good, but I like the barrel-aged iteration better/

Bottle from Tavour. Pours clear copper/amber with a transient near-white head. Aroma of light caramel, yeast/spice, light notes of wood and rye. Med plus body. Flavor is rye, heat, yeast/spice, light wood notes, light caramel in support. Heat interferes with a decision on both dry and bitter. I'll go with headed to dry, and somewhat bitter. There's a lot of whiskey in this ale.

Can from Tavour. Pours translucent gold with a white head that didn't last long. Aroma is tropical/juicy. Med plus body. Flavor is tropical/juicy with melon and mixed citrus. Very dry for the style. Rather bitter for the style too. Excellent.

Bottle - clear dark amber - nose of rich whiskey notes, vanilla, dark fruit, deeply caramelized sugars - the approach is full of caramelized maltiness, followed by vanilla and rich whiskey flavor, candied fruits - gets spicy and peppery through the middle and finish - lightly estery - long, warming finish - given the strength, it presents almost like a cocktail - it’s quite good, really.
