Capped 375 from Tavour. Pours dark brown with a transient tan head. Aroma of bourbon, yeast, dark malt, dark fruit. Arguably full bodied. Flavor is heat, bourbon, yeast/spice, toffeeish dark malt and a suggestion of fig. Maybe a very light chocolate note. I think brandy barrels would have been a better choice, but this is good stuff.

Damn delicious tripel, so smooth, nice spice notes. Perfect for when you're out of lagers to start the night.

Bottle - mostly black pour - high carbonation - sweet chocolate up front, followed by some earthy maltiness, vanilla, almond, berries - alcohol heat late, finishing with bittersweet chocolate - more traditional in terms of body and heft than the oily American rendition - I appreciate they were going for that and they are moderately successful.

Bottle - turbid amber - substantial head - surprisingly dry and tannic for the strength, with a lot of the dusty and peppery yeast you expect for the style - rich but dry maltiness - oxidation, oak - bourbon character manifests in the finish - it’s actually quite good!

6 ounce at the Washington Street location - hazy purple - nose of flavor of dark fruit, spicy Belgian yeast phenols, bourbon, red wine, oxidation, brown sugar, baked apples, really light acetic acid way in the back cutting the sweetness - warming finish - a little flabby in terms of mouthfeel, but it’s tasty.

Tulip at the Washington Street location - clear dark ruby - nice traditional rendition - creamy texture, medium body - lightly caramelized malts, chocolate, berry, tobacco, espresso - light vanilla of the tail end - a little sugary in the finish, but it’s solid.

Tulip at the Washington Street location - medium amber with a slight haze - soapy lace - nose and flavor have deep caramelized sugars, a touch of bubblegum, cherry, a bit of sherry - moderate finishing bitterness and a light alcohol burn - not bad.

Capped, waxed 375 from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a tan smear. Aroma of toasty/burnt malt, whiskey, dark fruit notes. Not dry. Not quite sticky. Bitter from heat? Some oak astringency. Bits of chocolate, a little cinnamon. Quite tasty.

Waxed, capped 375 from Tavour. Pours clear dark brown with a transient tan smear. Aroma of whiskey, dark fruit and chocolate. Med plus body. Flavor is whiskey, dark fruit, chocolate, and notes of banana and wood. Approaching sticky. Heat may provide the bitter. Banana comes forth ever more. Good flavor.

Waxed and capped 375 from Tavour at 18.7%. Pours dark brown, rather clear, with a decent, but transient, dark tan head. Aroma of the brown part of breakfast pastry with whiskey and dark fruit notes. Arguably full bodied. Flavor is that browned pastry, whiskey, dark fruits, chocolate. Not sticky, and drier than expected. Bitterness from heat, whiskey and oak astringency. Quite a drink.
