Bottle - a pretty well-executed rendition of brut Belgian ale - grape character is present throughout, adding a fruity sweetness to the moderate acidity, mild spice, light earthiness - middle through the tail end brings strong white grape, alcohol warmth, honey sweetness before a balancing tartness arrives - well done!

The aromas are dark malt, roast, Cocoa, whiskey and dates. Flavors are like nose, sweet dominates massively but balanced by some back end bitter and carbonation.

Bottle from Tavour. Dark brown, but still clear. Flat, still. Sweet, woody aroma, prunes and raisins, boozy notes singe the nostrils. Taste is sweet and leathery, pit fruit, heat comes at the back. Mouth coating, lightly dry. Really tasty, but brewed for sipping.

Taster at the Coaltrain IPA Madness tasting. The nose is caramel, spruce, guava, and grapefruit. Sweet and juicy, with a nice, sharp, citrusy bitterness. Pretty good.

375ml bottle from Tavour. Pours out black and thick, small brown head fades to lasting ring. Aroma brings roast grains, chocolate and big boozy notes. Tadte is chocolate, mildly sweet, before the alcohol briefly obscures the palate, then on to a fudgy finish. ABV burns a bit, especially way down. This beer actually caused my cheeks to flush after just two sips. Potent, but smooth and delicious.

Thick whiskey espresso. Sweet espresso, sweet whiskey, like drinking cold brew Irish coffee.

Tap at the brewery - hazy orange pour - sweet flavor, tempered by light dustiness and pepper - musky citrus fruit, candied orange peel, caramelized sugars - lingering spiciness and alcohol - complex and surprisingly less boozy than you'd expect - as it warms, in particular - I seem to remember really disliking their last attempt at a high-gravity bdg - I'm much happier with this one, but still a bit much.

375ml bottle consumed a Christmas Day 2018 - Viscous black pour - nose and flavor of deep bourbon oak, chocolate, vanilla, spices, chocolate cookie dough - boozy bourbon cocktail depth without being cloying or overly alcoholic - they did a good job, all things considered.

Bottle. (thanks Tom) Hazy brownish/amber with a small head. Quite sweet with malt, caramel, bourbon and hints of dried fruit. The body was almost full and the finish with warming alcohol.
