Rich deep amber and copper coloured body with a ton of sediment all over the sides and bottom, all with a single one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of rye, specialty grain, alcohol, starch, mild hops, yeast and some cleanser. Medium-bodied; Deep bitter hops with a lot of assertive grain and rye flavours with a bitterness, some light sweetness and a relatively flat flavour of grass, herbs and an assertive cleanser. Aftertaste shows some specialty grain malt, a little earthy and floral hoppiness and a minor sweetness of honey that fades fast. Overall,a pretty bad or dissapointing offering - not enough complexity and a rather bittering and pungent beer and not in a good way. Not really worth trying unless you like maca root or metallic and assertive flavours. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 02-November-2013 for US$2.25 sampled at home in Washington on 25-February-2014.

Drought at International Great Beer Expo (Meadowlands). Reddish brown, very small white head, strong banana aroma, high carbonation, pervasive banana flavor, abrupt finish with a banana aftertaste. A bit strange but very nice.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 1/19/14

Aroma: The aroma is earthy and nutty, some roasted malts, and plenty of banana bread
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a clean sheet of beige head
Flavor: The flavor is roasty/nutty and a little sweet, and a banana bread finish
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light for the style, soft carbonation, and a short finish
Overall Impression: This one is pretty nice. It isn't quite as banana bread as Wells, but it is quite reminiscent of that beer component-wise. The roast and nut flavors come out more up-front, but the banana bread stars in the finish and lingering after taste.

Tap at Draught 55. Pours dark brown with thin head. Nose is dark chocolate with hint of cayenne. Tastes of rich chocolate, some pine, vanilla, and at first cayenne is subdued but as you drink builds in back of throat and becomes more and more noticeable. Pretty pleasant amount of spice.

Bottle thanks to Blipp. Pours a near clear deep reddish amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of sweet but earthy grains, a nuttiness a bit of grassy hops and straw. Flavor begins with same musty sweet grains and nuttiness that grows to have a bit of grassy note and a hint of bitter citrus in the finish.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden color, small white head. Aroma of soir straw. Taste is funky straw and lemon. Odd.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 10/10/13, My 100th Belgian Strong tick!

Aroma: The nose is Belgian yeast, spice, fruit, some veggie notes, and caramel
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a small white head and light lace
Flavor: The flavor is mid-sweet, a somewhat Belgiany feel, yeast, and a little spice
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has average-to-lively carbonation, and decent feel
Overall Impression: Thought this beer was solid overall, but no more than that. It drinks alright, and it has some flavor, but it certainly isn't memorably good.

Tap at Draught 55. Pours kinda ugly brownish orange. Not a ton on the nose just light hops. Tastes hoppy,of orange peel, earthy, caramel, and toast. Bitter and a touch sticky on palate but overall tasty.
