New Beer Distributors, NY 12oz ($2.25): Pours amber with a whitish head. Aroma is maca root, mellow fruitiness, and a hint of citrus. Taste is hoppy, but not particularly bitter until the astringent aftertaste. Kind of malty. Well balanced. I think the APA was better, but this was still good.

New Beer Distributors, NY 12oz ($2.25): Pours a golden-orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is maca root, bread, and some yeast. I though this was going to be more Belgian, but it was more like an American blonde stuffed with Maca with a hint of Belgian yeast. Nice fruitiness. Body is really soft and thin. Not the best from these guys who made a number of other good beers.

New Beer Distributors, NY 12oz ($2.25): Pours a medium brown with a beige head. Aroma when you first open the beer is a big hit of banana. On closer inspection there is hazlenut and roasted malt. Some really proper nuttiness and that maca root I suppose (similar to the other beer that I tasted from them. Well balanced and tasty, but maybe a bit too carbonated or something.

Tap at the Ginger Man, NYC, 18/05/13. Lightly hazed golden with a thin beige head that clears to a film. Nose is caramel malt, hops, sugars. Taste pretty much mimics aroma, hops, light grass, citrus, caramel malt forward. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light hop bitterness in the finish. Well balanced malt forward IPA.

New Beer Distributors, NY 12 oz bottle ($2.25): Pours copper with off-white head. Aroma is a whole bunch of different fruits, pineapple, amongst others. Taste is pretty interesting and definitely different from other pales ales that I’ve had. i suppose that the maca root is doing some work. Taste is malt forward, but with an underlying bitterness that lingers off into the aftertaste. Aftertaste is actually a really big plus for this beer as it sustains and changes for a while. Interesting and good. I’m glad I randomly purchased this.
