Bottle: Poured a light amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of grainy cereal notes with dank hops is not very good. Taste is also dominated by weird grainy cereal notes with dank hoppy notes. Body is average with OK carbonation. Something is wrong with the malt bill, the hops profile or some of the other ingredients that were added but in any cases this is not something I would want to drink again.

A hazed amber Ipa with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with wet dog notes, oxidized. In mouth, a a sweet fruity malt with floral hops and resinous, oxidation, so-so.

A hazed reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet doughy malt with floral resinous hops, tropical fruit, nice. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of resinous floral hops, licorice notes, orange juice, nice. Bottle at Mondial 2014.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours brownish with an off-white head. Aroma is mango and some citrus, while the ginger is pretty subdued. Taste is sweet and not very bitter. A whole lot of mango. This is definitely an IPA, but a pretty mild one at that.

"2 oz" draft bottle pour at SAVOR’s Friday night session. Poured a slightly cloudy golden yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was light malts, spice notes - a touch fruit. Flavor was light fruits, balanced malt and hops.

Paid $9.99 at Cigarette City for a 650 ml bottle. Translucent yellow honey color with thin lasting head three-finger head. Aroma has an off artificial fruit nose. Over ripe fruit rotting in the sun.
The taste is notes of orange-marmalade, doughy yeast and that odd rotting melon again. I have no idea what Maca root is or what it should taste like. Could that be my mystery flavor here? The palate is medium bodied, with an active, fizzy carbonation. Lightly sweet finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol kick. Maybe I need to learn about Maca root because this was just a little off for me. The Golden Belgian wins out of the first round of brews I have sampled from this brewery.

650 ml bottle from Cigarette City for $9.99. Golden color with a light orange hue with slowly dissipating head. No lacing to speak of. The aroma is fruity Belgian yeast with an herbal tone.
The flavor starts sweet with the yeast being predominate in the body. Candy sugar sweetness. Chewy, full mouthfeel. I can find an herbal note toward the finish, I guess it is the agave although I never would have picked out agave. ABV at over 9 % it doesn’t show any harsh heat or alcohol in the flavor. Real clean and smooth finish, lingering fruity yeast. Overall simple but pretty good flavor.

650 ml bottle from Cigarette City for $9.99. Deep clear ruby with lasting thick head retention. It sure does look nice in the snifter. Aroma is real nice; big rye, citrus and lots of pine resin.
Flavor is the same as the aroma but in reverse order. The pine resin is pretty bold upfront with the spicy rye in the base of the beer. Crystal malts and some caramel are here for some balance but the pine resin and rye is pretty over the top. After it warmed up a bit the alcohol was pretty noticeable as well. Overall I have a few more bottles from this brewery to pop open, as far as this brew goes, it is just ok. If your looking for rye and pine resin you will find it here. It really did left me wanting more, substance.

Bottle from Bert’s Pours a solid dark brown with garnet highlights at the edges and a smallish off white head that dissipates rather quickly. My God that smells exactly like banana bread, that is an awesome aroma! Sweet caramelized brown sugar and banana with hints of nuts and vanilla with a touch of earthiness. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet bubbly mouthfeel. Loved the aroma, the earthiness in the flavor which I assume is the maca root distracts me a bit from enjoying this more.

Sample at Blind Tiger. The beer is a cloudy reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, fruit and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of piney hops, sweet malt and fruit. The finish is moderately bitter with a spicy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
