2017 bottle edition, opening and enjoying a lot, on saturday, after the pizza, relax with a generous and solid barley wine. This one is really smooth and syrupy, generous sweetness, toffee, vanilla, bitterness was not that strong.

Clear red brown beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: soft roast, grains, some cow fodder, hay, caramel touch, hint of bubble gum, toast, decent but not your typical barley wine aroma? MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: hoppy start, lots of caramel, grains, soft acidity, bitter touch, ok. Aftertaste: a bit oxidized, caramel, alcohol, malty, soft acidity, hoppy touch, grassy, meh. Rather disappointing for a barley wine.

Bottle, 75cl corked. Vintage 2024. Almost black with finger-thick beige head. Curtains. Roasted malts in the aroma, with lots of delicious coffee. More chocolate than the regular version. Dark dried fruit, alcohol, caramel notes. Full-bodied, lightly warming and soft on the palate. Not too sweet. Coffee and roasted malts driven flavor. Long finish. Nice indeed, adding cocoa and coffee wasn't a bad idea. 250307

Full-bodied, lightly warming and soft on the palate. Not too sweet. Dark malt flavors with a hint of oxidation. Alcohol, toffee, chocolate, dried fruit. Lasting finish. 08.aug.2017 Aromat słodowy, słodki, bardzo aromatyczny, jakby trochę pomarańczowy, kwiatowy, i trochę apteczny. Piwo bardzo mętne nie przezroczyste jasny pomarańcz kolor. Piana biała opadająca. Smak gorzki goryczka chyba chmielowa, w tle posmaki kwiatowe ziołowe ogólnie tak sobie, i tak jakby apteczne, czuć smaki słodowe ale nie wyraźne Nagazowanie średnie, ciało też średnie, jest gładkie ale finisz ma cierpki, jakby to była wersja amerykańska to by pasowało. Alkohol nie wyczuwalny. Ogólnie za bardzo goryczkowy jak na wheat wine.

Smaki melanoidynowe dominują chmielowych właściwie brak. Treściwość średnia, trochę cierpkie, nasycenie niskie. Finisz dość gorzki, alkohol niewyczuwalny. Bottle at our Airbnb. Pours deep golden with thick white head. Nose is sweet fruity with some yeast. In taste it has the same notes with moderate bitterness, with this latter in the finish too. Has incredibly smooth, light body and soft carbonation. Not bad, but something seems to be missing, but I can’t quite put my hands on what it might be.

Bottle on the beach of Zandvoort. Pleasantly bitter, somewhat fruity and quite thicc pale ale, right now feels like the perfect beach beer.

On tap at Jopenkirke. Semi-hazy yellow with thin head. Nose is tart, dusty and somewhat hoppy. In taste it’s primarily sour with a hint of bitterness and it closes with the combination of these two. Light bodied with average carbo, refreshing and easy to drink.

On tap at Jopen. Nose is pleasant raspberries at first, but with time and as it’s warming it becomes somewhat dusty. So does the taste, but it’s not soo fresh and fruity even at the start. It’s moderately tart and barely fruity with a sourish, short finish. Light bodied with average carbo, easy to drink. Meh.
