Bottle at Kolding Ølmesse. An almost clear pour, golden colored, with a nice, white to off-white head. Weak nose with some piney hops and some sugars. Sugary flavor too, with pale malt notes, some alcohol and hops. Nice fruity and piney finish with a good bitterness. Medium to full body. I expected more hops, considering its name, but it wasn’t until the finish that I got content. Sure a decent beer though. (080229)

Bottle at Kolding Ølmesse. Pours a dark golden glowing body, topped by a medium sized beige head. Nice sweet nose with caramel, a weak alcohol touch and some spicyness. The flavor follows the same path, with caramel-sweetness, a touch of alcohol and some spices. Quite warming and full-bodied. A real by-the-fire beer. (080229)

Bottle at Kolding Ølmesse. Pours a slightly murky brown body with a nice beige head. Caramel, fruityness and a pleasant hoppyness in the aroma. Caramel, sweetness, a little roasted maltyness and a nice bitterness in the flavor, finishing caramel-sweet and slightly alcoholic. Full, effervescent, sweetish and warming mouthfeel. Sure a beer one could drink more often. Rating: 6-4-7-4-14-3.5. 080229

Bottle, as Briels Geuzenbier. Unclear, brown body with a small, off-white head. Ginger, caramel, heather, cardamom and alcohol on the nose. It’s warming on the palate, full-bodied and sort of sticky. Caramel, roasted malts, nuts and spices in the flavor. Some alcohol flavor too, especially in the rather sweet finish. There’s also a touch of licorice. A quite nice one, I like that the spicyness isn’t dominating. 110621

Bottle at Kolding Ølmesse. Clear, slightly reddish orange colored body with a white head. Raspberries and apples in the aroma and flavor. Quite sweet in the mouth, almost sticky. Medium fullness and nice carbonation level. Refreshing and easy to drink, but give me a regular witbier instead of this one. (080229)
