Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 9/20/13

Aroma: The nose is tropical/citrus fruit, hops, some tart notes, brett, and musty notes
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden color with a small white head and some spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is a nice mix of the hop bitterness and the bretty funk, leaning toward the hops
Palate: The body is medium, it has a clean feel, soft carbonation, and a easy drinkability about it
Overall Impression: This was really an excellent beer. The hops come through a bit over the sourness at this point, but it could easily develop some more funk given time. Highly recommended. At under 5%, I could easily session this one all day long.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap ($4.70): Pours an amber color with a whitish head. Aroma is caramel malt and some light hops. Taste is a combination of this particular malt taste with a light hop bitterness intermingled with it. I don’t know if the flavor is toffee or bubblegum, but something around those areas. In any case, plenty sessionable and pleasant to drink.

Tap at the Blind Tiger NYC, 20/05/13. Hazy orange amber with a very thin white head. Nose is sour fruits, lemon rind, tarte apple skins. Taste comprises tarte apples, lemon, earthy, grassy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, tarte light puckerings in the finale. Thirst quenching and refreshing after a shitty 4 hour Greyhound ride cos Amtrak couldn’t be fucking bothered to provide their own alternative service - the WANKERS ! I digress ... decent enough sour without too much in the way of complexity.

Blind Tiger, NY tap ($6.50): Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is wheat and lemon. Taste is rather sour, in a straight up way, not a vinegary way though. I like the way that the Brett turned out here. Very easy to drink. Nice wheat backbone.
