Description
Tatton Brewery is a family-run brewery in Knutsford in the heart of Cheshire, just a stone’s throw from Tatton Park.

We brew both classic and contemporary style beers in a modern brewery, and our beers are available in cask, keg and bottle in pubs, bars, restaurants and other venues across the North West.

We have a custom built modern brewery, and have combined this with a traditional local yeast (revived after 50 years retirement), the finest ingredients and years of experience creating internationally renowned beers, to brew what we believe to be Cheshire’s finest beers.

Our brewery has been specifically designed to enable us to brew consistently good beer, we believe each and every pint we sell needs to be as good as the last one. We like to think this is what sets up apart from other small brewers, and hope that you will appreciate our efforts.

Pale yellow colour with lasting head. Really a lot of floral notes in this one. Slight candy notes. Smooth and creamy. Low bitterness.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a hazy dark orange-grown with a small cream head. Marmalade is prominent in the nose. In the mouth the texture is somewhat akin to gravy. Marmalade again to the fore in the flavour, with alcoholic strength, plus treacle, parking and dried fruit giving an overall sweetness. Finish is fruity. This is rather lovely – and dangerously drinkable !

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a small scummy white head, but good lacing. Floral hops in the aroma – plus some hints of biscuits. In the mouth it has a creamy texture with floral hops covering a variety of fruit sensations. Tangerine, mango, tropical fruits and traces of pine. Finish is dry and bitter. A bit too floral for my tastes.

Finally – a review in English ! On tap at Crewe Dog, Crewe (it appears to be a regular). Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. Hard to detect any aroma – just vague maltiness. In the mouth roast malts and dark fruits are to the fore. There’s also some liquorice and hints of coffee. Texture is somewhat watery, and the finish is fruity. It’s OK, but a bit disappointing really.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a cloudy pale straw with a sizeable white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly citrus. In the mouth the texture is a tad watery. Flavour has floral hops and tropical fruits to the fore, together with melon and traces of mango. All on an underlying biscuit base. Finish is mainly citrus but with some bitterness. This is a decent beer, but not my cup of tea.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a golden amber with a small white head and good lacing. Floral hops in the aroma along with hints of pine. In the mouth it starts off sweet and malty, then becomes bitter and hoppy before fluctuating back to a happy medium. There’s plenty of flavour here too, marmalade, ginger, summer fruits and traces of apricot. Rounded off with a fairly dry finish. Much nice than I was expecting – more of a bitter (best) than a golden ale.

440ml can @ Free-Dumb tasting, July 21. Thanks Jeremy for identifying the brewery here, as bizarrely no mention on the can. Pleasantly light wild nuances, some mild tropical nuances but lacks a depth of flavour.

19th July 2021; Shrewsbury Beer Share in Chez Sophie, five of us splitting 16 different beers, t'was a good night! 440ml can; BBE Nov 2021, taken by me. Misty light golden body, white head. Decent tropical fruity feel to this semi-wild something.

Can from Craft & Berry. Appearance - golden with only a light haze. Big creamy white head. Nose - apricto and mango. Taste - more mango, fresh orange and still some stone fruit too. Citrus zest at the back. Palate - light to medium bodied. Good mouthfeel, then a dry, zesty finish. Overall - nice beer.
