Had this at Chris O’s pre GBBF tasting, 02-08-08 cheers for a wonderful day Chris Pours dark brown with beige head. Really very fizzy in the mouth, nice sweet and sour taste in the mouth quite tingy. This is a refreshing beer that carries some maltiness through, touch of citrus touch of chocolate its really quite nice.

Bottle at Chris_o pre GBBF Shindig 08. Hazy black/dark brown. Thin beige head. Smells of salt and vinegar crips. Bit of sourness, some hop. Odd to have a dark saison. It’s like a saison but with chocolate. Tasty, if odd.

I think slob may have sent me this many moons ago. Thanks so much to whoever should get the credit. Look through my trade history, I’m sure it’s there. Everyone here is great BTW! This bottle was taped with electrical tape on the cap and refrigerated since the day I got it. Muted sour apple aroma. Slightly tart flavor, very smooth. I’d drink another!

Throwdown. Fruity raisin and vanilla and a little floral. Nicely funky too. Dry and a little tart. Fizzy. A little spicy pepper in the finish.

Shared by Stine. Thanks Eben. This is a very thick and heavy beer. Brown color. The aroma has malt and caramel, as well as some oak. A little salty in the flavor, but mostly sweet with brown sugar, molassas, and malt. Incredibly rich and thick. Very nice.

750ml Bottle Pours out a hazy brown/orange topped with a nice sand head. A nice aroma of spice, yeast and malt. Tast of more spice and malt. Not all that Saison feel still around. But hey it was still preety tasty. A big thanks to Footbalm for this treat.

Deep somewhat hazy brown coloured body with a bit of a ruby and dark rust coloured tint. A small tan head fades away briskly. Aroma of fresh hops, sugars, raisins and some other fruits. Medium-bodied; Hoppy taste up front fading to a little malty flavour with no spices or anything else. Aftertaste finishes a bit bitter with some nuttiness noticeable and little else. Overall, not much for the style and really not a good beer throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 19-November-2005 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
