Cask Conditioned at the Wenlock Arms, 30/1/09. Near black colour with a moderate, off-white head. Aroma of roast malt, dark chocolate. The flavour had a sweet edge, with more chocolate, coffee and a some fruit. Enjoyable.

Bottle at LCRBM3. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find anything else more about this beer. I may have to phone the brewery. Black beer with lasting beige head. Spicy heathery aroma. Little bit over carbonated in mouth. Bit of liquorice, overly spicy maybe. Still it’s got some good English yeast and it made a change to the taste buds.

Near black; small, but resistant greige head. Bog myrtle, cedar, rosemary, very spicy nose; very unusual for a British stout. A bit of liquorice in the more usual category. Again, dry-spicy flavours with rosemary, lavender, ginger. In the end, a spike of alcohol. Very special brew, completely off-setting. Harrisoni, thanks, but could you fill in some details?

Bottle at home ...Golden Orange ... Light hop nose ... Sweet orange ... mellow fruit ... some juicy hops ... little fruit malt balanced well with an intersting sweet hop character.... Im really quite enjoying sipping and savouring the depth and charcter of this beer more than the flavour would initially suggest ... Cask at Paisley Beer Festival 2008 ... hazy amber fruit sweet ... orange peal and little hop ... very bitter linger.

Bottled at RBESG ’07. Hazy pale amber. Hay-like hops, honey and flowers crowd the nose. Sweet and medium bodied. Well hopped with orangey notes and pleasant long bitterness.

Cask handpull at Cidershed, Norwich. Amber, disappearing head. Pleasing perfumed hop aroma. Lacks a bit of condition. But has decent citrus on end, tangerine on finish. Actually a very nice session bitter in the citrus style.

Cask handpull at Fat Cat, Norwich. Amber, disappearing head. It’s got quite a syrupy golden syrup flavour, bit of demerrara sugar. Decent hit of hop on finish. Quite full in mouth. A strongish golden bitter. I really like the hop on the finish.

Cask handpull at Fat Cat, Norwich. Dark ruby, disappearing beige head. Decent choc and damosn aroma, not a lot of condition, very good choc and blackberry/sweetish black cherry flavour in mouth. Smooth choc finish. Fine and the choc/fruit is good
