Cask at The Harp, London, as The Fat Cat Honey Ale. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of honey, hints of toffee. The flavour has moderate notes of honey, but is not too sweet. Smooth to drink, with a decent hoppy bitterness in the finish.

Hazy amber beer. Thick frothy head. Rich deep hoppy beer for England! (But doesn’t match US versions for hops and weight!). A little spice in the dry finish. Soft and frothy palate.

Cask (handpump) @ Harlequin, 108 Nursery Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire England S3 8GG.ABV. 4.3%. Cclear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy to fizzy, good to excellent lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light caramel and chocolate, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, grass, licorice notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, smoked - coffee bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20100423]

The bottle is a slow gusher; it pours a hazy amber color with huge head, quite solid and persistent. The aroma is a bit malty, hoppy, and with some chemicals, metallic, that can be explained with the extra fermentation. Correct body strength, it has just a metallic caramel flavor, high bitterness and some vegetables. This beer would not have lasted the trip to India...

Cask @ 2nd Larbert Beer Festival. Golden colour, white bubbles. Aroma is hint of honey, vegetables, malts. Flavour of malts, hint of honey, slight vegetables.

5th December 2008. Dark red brown beer - clear - just. Small suddy head. Smooth stout - more porter like really. A little sweet. The port is subtle and adds a small fruity note. Semi dry bittering finish.

2nd December 2008. Clear dark brown beer. Lovely rich malt with rich red wine and port tones. A semi dry finish with more rich malt and a little toffee. Nice!

Cask at the Cask Pub & Kitchen, London on 9th January 2010. Orange gold with thin disappearing yellow white head. Rounded. Hoppy citric notes and a touch of orange zest. Toffee malt aroma. Increasingly dry bitter finish. Smooth mouthfeel. Satisfying beer.

Cask at the Cask Pub & Kitchen, London on Friday 13th November 2009. Amber with creamy head of off-white foam giving mainly upper-glass lacing. Malt clearly the main agent in this ale, and aromas include mace and nutmeg. A few hoppy notes are apparent before a medium duration bittersweet finish on a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Very well-kept by the pub.
