Bottle. Dark amber-red with a very thin head. There’s little pleasing about its bitter taste with only a modicum of sweetness to be found in this aspect, although it has a much better nose in this respect.

Bottle from Hay Wines, Ledbury, Herefordshire. Hazy, pale gold. White, lasting head. Aroma of pale malt. There’s some weird, sulphurous, fusty, damp straw too! Taste is lightly, spicy dry. Some bitterness. Short, dry finish.

Poured by gravity @ NERAX North cask festival. 11/16/2013 Haverhill, MA. Clear gold with lots of soapy head. Nose is corn and weak grassy hops. Ok, I’m confused here…. Where are the Green hops located?? The flavor is all grain, generic pale malt and yeast. Needless to say I was expecting much more. But it is just a Golden Ale I got worked up form the description and got nothing.

Gravity dispense at Beer in Hand, Hereford, 17/10/13. Clear copper golden with a thin off white covering. Nose is grassy, fruits, light cereals, not inspiring! Taste comprises light citrus, light bready malt, grass, dull stuff. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light bitter notes in the finish. A very so so affair some may say ’twiggy nonsense!’

500ml bottle from Booths, Preston. Pours chestnut brown with a decent off-white head. Aromas of caramel malt and grassy hops. Decent amount of nuttiness comes through as promised. Medium bodied, good carbonation and lacing. Bitter finish. Decent brown beer.

500ml bottle from Booths, Preston. Pours hazy orange with a decent white head. Grassy and floral hop notes dominate the aromas. Good hop character on the taste, some light malt sweetness. Good carbonation. Finishes a tad marmalade-sweet, nice though.

500ml bottle. Pours chestnut brown and seemed quite promising from the colour and aroma, but what taste it does have - English hops, malts and dried fruits - is simply not rich enough and seem lost in its thin, watery texture. Disappointing.

Cask-conditioned at the Herefordshire & Worcestershire beeriodical, the Seven Stars, Bristol March 2013. Chestnut coloured with a moderate, off-white head. Fruity bitter, with a touch of hedgerow hop and moderately butter finish. Ok.
