Description
Based in the heart of the English Lake District, brewers of bold, innovative beers since 2002, our beer range is eclectic and includes thirst quenching session beers, big hopped pale ales, deep dark stouts and sours. With a range of core beers, available in Cask, Keg, Bottle and Can.
At Hawkshead Brewery we make the sort of beer we like to drink - distinctive, full of flavour, handmade, and perfectly crafted. We are small enough to know most of our customers, not to care about the mass market, be able to brew lots of different beers, experiment and innovate. We are big enough to employ a team of five brewers, make around 140 barrels (23,000 litres) of beer a week, deliver direct throughout The North, and our Tap at our Staveley site is open every day.
In about 2017, a controlling interest in the company was taken by Liverpool-based Halewood Wines & Spirits, and this may result in further expansion.

Did you ever think what it would be like to be a 97-year-old nun, father? Ted said "No"!!! Hazy golden with a head. Quite a creamy texture and tropical fruit taste, that subdues it's strength, strength apparent but not influencial beyond its full body.

Bottle courtesy of Bill and Julia, cheers guys 👍🏼. Consumed at home Sunday 2nd March 2025 after a 14-15 km loop hike in glorious sunshine to two local hills Plattnstoa 864m & Fürberg 880m then to our local Gasthof zum Sonnewald, Schöfweg for a beer. We had a Thomasina Miers Chilli tonight for tea, it was fantastic. Pours warm gold with a mid sized white head. There's a lot of flavour and it's a good beer for such a modest and. Clean, bitter, refreshing with citrus touches and a nice dry finish.

Bottle courtesy of Bill and Julia, many thanks guys. Had this at home Sunday 23rd February 2025, after a short walk to Gasthof zum Sonnewald Schöfweg (our local) pours light amber, decent clarity and a mid sized white head. Middling bitterness, a little citrus, it's a touch thin as only 3.4% abv, but pleasant.
