Bottle courtesy of Geraint & Helen (next door neighbours) consumed at home Wednesday 11th December 2013 Pours copper in colour with hardly a bubble noticed. Clarity is pretty good, consistency is watery syrup, actually its not so thick but it is thicker than your average beer. Fruity and a little sweet with a little sourness creeping in. To be fair this isn’t your heavy cloying, massively sweet Barley Wine as it certainly has its own character but sipping again it is sweet with alcohol soaked rasins and other dried fruit dancing on the tongue. A good beer would have liked a little carbonation though. A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.4

I said I wasn’t going to drink today but wanted to grab a new English county tick so here I am at The Jeffrey sipping bitter. Pours copper with head that dissipates. Nose is slight metallic and grains. Tastes grainy, caramel, of pennies, apricot, lemon, and grass. Pretty bitter with lingering finish.

Amber-red without a head. This has a subtle sweet character with some winter type fruits evident.
