Description

Bottle from Geers. Hazy yellow, thin, foamy, white head. Aroma of sorrel, hay, rhubarb, moist white pepper, marijuana, oak, unbaked bread. Taste has sour gooseberry, green apple & plum, some funky sorrel amongst lemon & lactic acid (yoghurt) notes; kept together by a bread-crusty malt body. Bitter grassy hops in the finish, offering lemon rind, hay and a touch of grapefruit. Medium body, moussy texture, average carbonation. Interesting nose, not super complex but highly drinkable.

Small, just off-white head, stable over fully hazy orange beer. Smells as if wild yeasts have been busy. Fruity aromas, but not as effective fruits, funky. Ink, walnut - if not bitter. Very neutral taste, no acidity, no sweetness, no bitterness. Slick, again... dull. Medium carbonation. Mmmpf. En Stoemelings used to do better, whilst Italy sports a wealth of very remarkable chestnut beers... so? Txs to Stef!

Small if resistant transparent head over hazy reddish amber beer. Turf jumping out of the glass, even phenolic smells. Faint dried fruit, unfortunately not much else. Sourish, again smoked. In the mouth the barrels come out even more - but as to Calvados...? Islay, yes! There is however a faint tast as from (dried) sour appleskins. Even some acetic acid, prunes. Almost astringent (the appleskins?); medium bodied at best. Not very carbonated, dry. I'm at a loss whence the peatflavour. It might have been a bit more lively.

Small rim over finely carbonated hazy orange-golden beer. Very lambic-y nose with some citrus (mandarine being very plausible), farmyard odours, Brettanomyces. More lambic-y flavours, but mildered by light-spicy and fruity flavours, even some fruitsgars. Very faintly vinous, with lots of esters. Spritzy carbonation, light body, fruitslick. Invigorating. Excellent! To me, it(s rather saison-lambic than saison-wine.

Generous off white head, short lasting. Effervescent. Dark bread, roasted chicory. Gets a bit watery. Long deep bitter finish. A funky unusual beer

Fulminant build-up of lightly yellow head, fluffy, over hazy ochre-orange beer. Vegetable nose, rather oppressive, herbs, garden wees, alternative potpourries, wild yeasts. A bit of all the above, with a lot of sweetness, and even more potpourri. Lots of dried herbs/pharmaceutical flavours. Again wild yeasts. Very slick, almost oily. Not very heavy, despite good ABV. Almost overcarbonated. Not En Stoemelings' best, IMO. As to the 'tripel' moniker?

Tap at BXL. Erősen savanyú és funky saison, pontosan, ahogy azt szeretem. Azt csak kóstolás után tudtam meg, hogy Canti blend/collab, úgyhogy még csak elfogultságról sem beszélhetünk.

Bottle with Grumbo. Aroma is fruity, citrus, grapefruit, yeasty, bready, stonefuit, herbal and floral. The carbonation detracts from the taste. More bitterness in the finish.
