I Draught /I Huge darker cream head over reddish-brown, fully opaque beer; textbook lace. Smokey, smoked ham and dito mackerel, mineral². Smoked, Rauchmalz, salty, even a bit 'fishy' (sorry, no pun intended). Finish has a lot of dark malts. Chewy, feels much better bodied than 5.5% would warrant. Nice, typical Bamberger-style smoked.

I Draught /I Very fine & dense off-white head over faintly veiled ochre-golden beer. Fresh malts, other grains, peppery, wholemeal bread, rainwater. Sourish malts, perfumey almond flavour, again other grains, faint meaty and some fruity esters, bread. Medium bodied, upped by the rye. Not very carbonated, slick. The sourishness surprised, but it was fleeting. Not really very special.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of roasted malt, smoke, leather and grass. Pours cloudy dark brown color with medium sized tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with light sweet caramel, roasted malt and leather, following is grassy, herbal, slightly medicinal and umami, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is pretty bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Certainly not an arse...

Day after the day before. Well this one have been stored in the basement for some years. It screamed for some mercy. Ok I am a gentle and noble man. And it is Christmas.
Nice deep nutty pour with a fine thick tan head. Good lacing down the sides of the glass. Soft carbonation level. Pleasant mouth felling and easy to drink. The flavor is a bit unusual. Kind of liquid fig juice. Unusual and rare. Quite ok for an evening sipper.

Draft @ ML Fontainas.
