Tap@Popeyes, Oct 2009. Citric nose, cascade. Amber, low head. Smooth easy to drink, like a mild IIpa. Mellow mouthfeel, light stickyness. Pine retronasal.

Cask@ Popeyes, Oct 2009. Cloudy amber. Flat head and not too bubbly of course. Plenty of hops, chinook Zeus? He said. Chewy body. Agressive hop stickyness. Quite American but with a better body.

Draught at Q-Brick. Medium golden, cloudy, with a thin, lacey head. Big citrus hop aroma. A hoppy golden ale, American (Amarillo) hops with light golden malts, very tasty, smooth and clean. Wheat adds smoothness, though not a lot of wheat flavor. Great hops and balance—wonderfully drinkable.

Draught at Eni-bru. Very cloudy yellow-gold color with a very bubbly, thin head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, golden malt. Fruity, with some citrus and pepper. Interesting flavor: fruity, strong hops, ok malt. Belgian yeast fruitiness: with grapefruit and citrus. Long bitter finish. interesting and original, though maybe slightly confused. I like it.

Draft at GJBF 2009, Osaka. Very thin, pale yellow color. Very well made. No need for the rice in this—just takes away from the beer, making it lighter than it should be. Some hop aroma in the nose, and a decent bitterness in the finish. Pretty well-hopped and quite well balanced, but too thin. Really well made, but too much rice.

Golden hazy colored. Spices, light hops, some earthiness. Similar flavor. This one seemed to be trying really hard to accomplish something but missed by a fairly wide margin. It wasn’t bad, but not great. I don’t think the Belgian IPA has been perfected by anyone, though.

Draught at Popeye, Tokyo. Hazy pale amber. Tart apple cider upfront. Above medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Green apples and graepfryut, quite a bit of resin too. Not very aromatic, and with rather sloppy unfirm malt and a fair bit of alcohol it is by far and away my least favourite from an otherwise fabulous brewer.

Draught at Popeye, Tokyo. Very black, creamy head. Roasty coffee and chocolate up front. Soft and seemless with concentrated moutfilling coffee flavour. Lightly salty finish with a touch of bitterness. Wonderfully balanced!

Draught at Popeye, Tokyo. Orange-brown, small head. Roasty and perfumy. Mid-dry with dense rounded mouthfeel. Grapefruity hops interact well with roasty malt. Long hop bitter finish. Aromatic, fresh and very tasty!

Draught at Eni-bru, Osaka. Muddy pale orange. Orangey hoppy nose. Sweetish and lively, vaguely fruity. Slender and sparkling, like champagne. yeasty, but not overly so. Hops bring seville orange marmelade that grows into a pleasnt late bitteralmond finish. Perfectly executed - complex and very drinkable. Love it!
