Description

0.33 l bottle from 'bier.', bottled in April 2018. Black with a massive, dense, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, quite fruity and slightly sourish-funky aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, rosemary, blueberry, raspberry and some leather. Gently sweet, malty, quite roasty, a bit sourish, quite funky and moderately fruity taste of lots of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, licorice, leather, some wood and a touch of red berries, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy-dry, slightly tart, funky, a bit woody finish with medicinal notes and a touch of glue. Medium body, smooth, slightly creamy and just a little astringent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very complex beer, rather intense with lots to discover, but somehow the Brett doesn't fit in that well, some harsh medicinal and almost chemical notes appear.

Bottle picked up from Die Bierothek® München, I drank this at Mum and Keith's in Kempsey, Worcestershire, Saturday 27th October 2018 Pours hazy warm gold with a white head. Refreshing and simple American Pale Ale (APA) nice buzzy bitterness, not too harsh the hops work well here, I understand from the label that we have Callista, Comet and Northern Brewer in this beer along with local fave’ Hallertau. Streaky citrus, nice carbonation. This is a lovely simple APA. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
