The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Taste is a little sweet, with loads of milky chocolate and light, but flavorful coffee. Alcohol is well-covered. Body is smooth, creamy, and easy-drinking. I didn’t catch many licorice notes or anything in there though. Pretty good IS.

The Diamond, Brooklyn tap ($6): Pours cloudy brownish yellow with a small head. Aroma is a lot of lemon, assorted tropical fruit, wheaties. Taste is rather sour. I didn’t find this easy to drink at all. This is coming from someone who is all in favour of berliner weisses and sour ales in general, but the sourness here was not the kind to my liking and maybe a bit overdone. Sort of soda like and a bit sweet. Meh.

The Diamond, Brooklyn tap ($6): Pours amber with a whitish head. Aroma is toffee, honey, and a little bit of earth. Slightly sweet. Mild and subdued hoppiness. Plenty of honey and toffee in the taste. Easily sessionable and pleasant to drink.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours golden with white head. Aroma is lemony, malty, and a bit spicy. Taste is more bitter and hoppy than I expected, but the body is still nice and creamy. Alcohol is well covered. Some strange, but good, flavour around the middle. Easy to drink, with a certain degree of complexity. So far, from Newburgh, this is the best I got.

A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light strawberries. In mouth, a sweet creamy peachy malt with tarragon notes, mineral notes, not bad.

The Bodega, Brooklyn tap: Pour amber color with off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt, dirt, and sugar. I didn’t really get too much maple out of this, but it was definitely a pretty sweet Irish Ale. Very easy to drink. Low hoppiness, but still enough to give it a nice mellow flavor.
