Tap at Hoptron in Patchogue, NY - lightly hazy gold - nose of mild smoke and some lactic tartness - not much else - flavor is light - just a bit of tartness and a very subdued smokiness, a touch of lemon - slight mineral near the finish - overall kind of watery and lacking the complexity I was hoping for, but kind of refreshing.

The Sampler, Bushwick tap: Pours dark orange with a white head. Aroma is spice, squash, and Belgian yeast. I was expecting something a little maltier, but instead I got a more fruity, squashy, effervescent ale. Certainly interesting with a plenty unique taste.

Tap at brewery. Pours very light lemonade color with small head. Nose is all lacto and lemon. Tastes of tart lemony citrus, lacto, pear, hint of nasal spray. Tart palate and crushable.

Tap at brewery. Pours fine gold with nose of grains and hop. Pretty hoppy for cream ale, light biscuits, grains, and grass. Smooth fresh and very drinkable.

Found some old rating notes from TapNY 2013 that somehow never got entered.
There's not a ton of detail in the notes for this beer, just that I really enjoyed it. Just a score and the fact that I enjoyed the malt profile quite a bit. If/when I find this beer again I'll have to do a rating update.

Location: Draft at Beer Culture, 8/11/14
Aroma: It has a solid aroma that is mostly coffee/roast, soruness is minimal
Appearance: It pours a murky looking orange-amber color with an off-white head
Flavor: Sourness comes through in the flavor, and with the coffee makes for an odd/not great mix
Palate: It has a fairly soft feel, an average carbonation, and an okay finish
Overall Impression: This is a cool experiment, and I applaud them for their effort, but the overall beer just doesn't really work for me. I gotta give bonus points for the effort though.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is lemon, acidic notes, and wheat, of course. Taste is rather sour. It is not too citrusy. Minimal sweetness mixed in. This is a good Berliner. Nothing out of the ordinary.
