Description
Hangar 24 began its craft brewing exploration with a true passion for good beer, the absolute love of flying and the pure enjoyment of being around great friends. My buddies and I used to meet at hangar No. 24 at the Redlands Municipal Airport, after an afternoon of flying, to trade stories, talk aviation, play music and share a few cold ones that were recently home brewed. These days, the location of where the beers are brewed has changed, but the quality time spent enjoying a delicious, handcrafted beer and conversation with friends is the same as ever. I personally want to invite you to join the adventure. Cheers! Ben Cook.

Sample at Heroes Bar & Grill. Hazy, nearly opaque yellow color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma is not surprisingly all citrus and wheat. Light-bodied with a zesty citrus character and notes of mild hops, wheat and malt. The finish is fruity with an orange rind aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Slightly hazy golden and copper coloured body with a thin, very fast-dying one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of light yeast, bread, coriander seed, a touch of lemons and curacao and a bit of whole oranges. Medium-bodied; Assertive yeastie flavour with some wheat, a little candy sweetness and a hint of alcohol peeking through. Aftertaste is mostly sweet with a good citrus taste, some lighter spices and a bit of complexity - nothing bitter nor agressive here. Overall, a nicely crafted summer beer with a lot of flavour, but not a heavy body nor deep flavours to weigh down the mouth. Nice to try if you can find it! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Tustin, California on 01-August-2012 for US$2.29 sampled at home in Washington on 22-August-2012.

Bottle, 75cl, at TFODRBSG 2012. A small, dark beige head forms over an almost black body. Roasted malts, some chocolate and coffee, a touch of dried fruits. Alcohol and some soy like notes as well. Quite boozy, with some vanilla and bourbon. Full-bodied, warming on the palate and still quite soft. Boozy, roasted flavor with vanilla notes, dark chocolate and coffee. Lasting finish. A pleasant one indeed, but a bit too boozy. 120818
