Bottle at Hell’s Kitchen, Norfolk, VA. Slightly hazy straw-orange body, medium dense cream head. Light herbal nose. Light floral hops body, somewhat vegetal, backed by soft, sweet, bready malts. Grassy. Average.

Bottle at Hell’s Kitchen, Norfolk, VA. Deep red-brown body, thin partial cream head. Nose a nonresonant discord of citrus peel and piny hops. Sharp, harsh body, thin and toasty, with juicy grapefruit rind, pine, and hints of chocolate. Not necessarily dismal, but rough and wild.

Draft. Murky dark brown color, thick beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of multiple spices. Taste has more gourd than spice - a rare and cherished thing. Gotta like that high pumpkin to nutmeg ratio. Light body. Tasty.

Grass nose. Clear golden, thin head. Lemon zest, aspirin flavor. Unbelievably hoppy and bitter for only 20 IBUs. Very light body. I like the idea of a high IBU to ABV ratio, but I’d like to see more hop complexity.

Allspice and roasted malt aroma. Cloudy brown, thick yellow head. Very watery. Caramel, slight astringency, allspice, and graham cracker. Really neat idea, although I had expected more of a clove presence.

Draft at Whole Foods Market Short Pump, VA. Pours a murky brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention and nice lacing. Aroma of wheat, pumpkin, caramel and ginger. The taste is tart wheat, pumpkin and caramel. Medium bodied, highly drinkable. Nice beer.

12oz bottle bonuses in a trade with ksurkin. Thanks Ken! Pours a hazy, light caramel color with some thin, creamy white head. Nose is nice and inviting, floral, apple, orange, lemon, lightly piney. Pretty nice. Flavor is nice and well balanced, sweet, lemon, grapefruit, orange zest, a little cracker, some biscuit. Actually reminds me of a hopped up ESB. Medium bodied, dry, zesty finish. Wish this was my local, I very much enjoyed this.

12oz bottle via trade with KSurkin. Pours a thick, opaque black with one ring of white head. Nose is nice, a little worrisome, tar, pine, not pinetar, some burnt malt extract, caramel, licorice, molasses, orange peel, pine sap. Flavor is actually slightly sour. Infected? I’m not totally sure, but it’s possible. Flavors of red wine vinegar, molasses, some grapfeuit, some lemon, a flat white grape flavor, some grass. Medium bodied, spritzy, sour finish. Admittedly, my wife likes sours and porters and loved this. To me, this seemed infected at best, poorly executed at worst.

12oz bottle, picked up from Grape and Gourmet. Poured a mostly amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma was earthy malts, some light hops. Flavor was a bit subdued, earthy notes pretty much top to bottom with this one. Drinkable, but not as enjoyable as I had hoped.

Cask at DoG St. pub in Williamsburg VA. Weak aroma. Hazy amber, hasn’t dropped bright quite yet. Very soft carbonation, but young not flat Flavor is overripe lemon. Finishes with lemon zest and a touch of dandelion?Alcohol slightly noticeable on the back end. I’m not a fan of the regular Green Can, so this is certainly an improvement.
