Mørk brun noe tåkete med lavt lys brunt skum. Lukter trevirke, og mørke frukter. Noe sur smak, lett brent trevirke. Kort.

500 ml bottle, batch 282, temporary label. Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Nice sweetish herbal aroma, naturally with notes of bog myrtle / sweet gale, also hints of other undefined herbs. Herbal flavour too, a little sweetness but not too much, distinct bog myrtle, also some bittering hops. Well balanced, one of the best beers with bog myrtle (including homebrew) I’ve had.

500ml bottles, brygg nr. 243, shared with friends. Fawn-coloured head to a cloudy dark brown body with a tint of red. Earth, caramel and raisin on the nose. Toffee flavours joined by vanilla and Christmas spices. Mid-sweet malty ending with warming alcohol. Full bodied. Lovely Yuletide sipper, quite heavy to drink (Juleølaften, Tromsø 04.12.2015).

A hazed reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a smoked peaty caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light treacle, very nice. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt with nice peated notes, grassy hops, light mineral notes, dark fruits, plums, very nice. Bottle at Montréal Xmas gathering 2015.

500 ml bottle, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Brew #271. ABV is 7.5%. Hazy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate but nice aroma of brown kandij sugar syrup, caramel and dark dried fruits, a hint of mild spices. Pleasant and medium sweet flavour of brown malts, wood, brown kandij sugar and caramel, some dark fruits, only a hint of mild spices. The woody notes keep me from giving the beer a higher rating, but this is still a fairly decent dubbel. The trappists do it better though.
