At the source: pours orange gold with a small white head. Light fruitiness, hops, that fresh brewery smell. Taste is lightly sweet. Little hops. Slightly soured finish. Not a great saison but not a bad beer.

GBBF Day 4. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, thin cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry with decent fine carbonation. Light pale malts. Lots of mango hop here. Hop spice and mango. There is lesser tropical fruits and marmalade underneath. Light semi dry finish. Very nice, went back for another!

Draught at The Merchant, 2/26/15.
Somewhat darker than your average DuPont clone, which I thought this was (it is not), with deep copper and bronze undertones. No head, very fizzy (from the spices, it seems). Clarity is high.
Smells very spicy from the nose, with hints of sugar cookies and just a dollop of caramel. Mostly lemongrass, grains of paradise, coriander, thyme, white pepper-type notes (not suggesting these are all used). Little if any hop notes, just some grassiness and hay.
Flavor is heavily spicy. Not unbearably so, but it aint subtle. Fizzy carbonation and a very loose, watery texture do nothing to soak up the spice. There are some appropriate and pleasant Belgian esters here, but it’s kind of an afterthought. As well, the beer is a bit underattenuated (for my taste, anyways). Finishes with lots of clove and pepper mixing with more sugar cookie-like maltiness. Hopefully not terribly representative of what these guys are up to....
Draught at the brewery, 7/11/17.
Well, it's still not my favorite saison, but as with all of their beer, it's greatly improved from 2.5 years ago. Yellow fruits, honey, hay, lots of pepper, so definitely some pleasant saison qualities. But it's also a bit malty/bready and has a lot of herbal and dough qualities that work against each other. Very, very light and watery, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Rating is for this most recent sample.
