[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A very pale amber pour with a scattering of translucent head; leafy blackcurrant aroma; soft and soapy in the mouth with a fresh blackcurrant taste; and a tart, clean berry finish. Crisp, fresh and very tasty. Based on earlier reviews this seems better drunk close to home, it didn’t seem to enjoy a trip north of the border!

Cask at EBF April 23. Aroma combines caramel with a boozy streak. Clear chestnut. Frothy white head. The flava is primarily influenced by tue barrel. Malty and caramel under the booze. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. How boring was the beer before the barrel aging?
