Description
We are a 6BBL brewery fast out-growing our current site. Also combining a taproom and burger bar, our team are continually economising with space in order to maximise our postage-stamp-footprint.

Our site has a fascinating history. We opened in November 2017 and despite originally being built as a pub, the first ever pint poured here was a Steam Town one — one hundred and eleven years after the original application was rejected.

The name Steam Town is a nod to Eastleigh's rich industrial railway heritage, something we honour throughout the business — from original railway memorabilia and repurposed materials in the taproom, to our beer names and Heath-Robinson-inspired labels and pump clips.

Bottle ordered from Twisted Crow, Basingstoke. Aroma combines tart cherry with cacao, coffee, malts and booze. Darkest opaque brown. Thin of appearance. Thick foamy beige head... very lively... could hear it bubbling away in the bottle from some distance. Tart... the cherry really kicks off. Bitter and boozy edge. However after the initial front it then develops a real fruity streak. Underlying creamy hints. Medium bodied. Oily if not overall thick. Flat-average carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable - the cherries really stand out.

Cask at GBBF 2022 - Olympia. Pours mostly clear orange-gold with a modest, foamy white topping. Lovely southern hem hop character, light pale bready sweetness, a little rindy bitterness, pine needles, lemon. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Well balanced finish, lightly pissy, steady bitterness, further citrus. Solid.
