[Cask at the Andover Beer Festival 2026.] An attractive golden amber pour with a loose cream head; sweet malty aroma; malty toffee taste with hints of barley sugar; and a light earthy finish. A very nice mild.

[Cask at the Nags Head, Reading.] An opaque peaty brown pour with a tight beige head; aroma of chocolate malts; quite thin in the mouth, but with a delicious bittersweet taste of purple fruit and well roasted dark malts that seem to dissolve in the mouth; leaving a dry earthy finish with a touch of chocolate.

[Cask at the Nags Head, Reading.] A pale amber pour with a close cream coloured head; citrusy aroma; bready body with some chewy marmalade fruit; then a sharp pithy lemon finish. Very tasty given the lowish ABV, a good choice for a summer’s afternoon.

Bottle from Marwell Zoological Park shop. Clear light chestnut. Frothy foamy white head. Aroma combines sweet fruit, glue and malts. Peripheral sawdust. Light-medium bitter. Woody. Grainy. Tart edge. Fruity. A hint of glue. Quinine. However it's all somewhat thrown together, the elements don't quite marty. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Bitter but lacks depth. Doesn't quite work. Just doesn't do much for me.

Bottle from Winchester Cathedral Gift Shop whilst the Mrs was shopping for more Christmas Tree decorations. Aroma combines light citrus, malts and that's about it. Clear gold. Thin foamy translucent white head. An initial bitter citrus hit with added sourness. A herbal element. Underlying butterscotch then develops alongside sweet fruit. But it just does not work together. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft lazily fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Man, just did not enjoy this. A crash of twiggy brewing and misused hops.
