Cask at the Reading beer festival. Grassy hops amble through in a light and rather cardboardy bitterness. Wouldn’t have classed this as an IPA; more as a half-hearted golden ale. Frankly not a big fan of it, possibly the worst beer of the fest.

Pint from the ale House reading. Colour is a very dark amber with a loose off white head. Aroma is malt and hops, with a similar flavour and a sweet finish.

Cask at the Spring Equinox beer festival at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. A bright copper colour with a ring of white head; fresh leafy hop aroma; strongly hopped taste with a shewy body; and a dry finish. A satisying IPA-style bitter.

Cask at the Half Moon, Windlesham, 20/03/14. Almost clear golden with a moderate off white head that thins to a pond. Nose is citric sherbets, orange pith, earthy hop presence, straw, light peach tones. Taste follows, more orange pith and citric sherbetdom, subtle hop notes, straw, light bread dough, toasty. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with grassy hop bitterness. Decent citric forward GB fayre.

Tried at Reading University. I was a bit dubious when I was told this was brewed by students. I had horrible flash backs of really bad beer. But I really enjoyed this. Dark and cloudy nutty brown with a tan head. Almost floral aroma. With a nice bitterness to finish. Overall a good beer.

Cask at the Bell, Waltham St lawrence. A brilliant amber pour with a scummy head; aroma of fresh green hops; earthy, woody, hops taste; and a dry resinous finish. Satisfying.

Cask at the Bird in Hand, Knowl Hill. An opaque pour, deep chocolate brown in colour with a thin beige head; intense chocolate malt aroma with not a trace of sweetness; smooth with a milky mouth feel, and a rich cocoa taste with some very bitter chocolate thrown in ; then a deep, dry, earthy bitterness with a touch of coffee grounds, and a lasting finish. A really satisfying stout.

Bottle shared at CBC Islington - London. Thanks to Andy. A mild gusher, this one! Pours dark brown with a moderate, creamy beige cap. Burnt toast on the nose, some earth, burnt leaves. Light sweet flavor with astringent bitterness, earth, burnt plastic, carpet. Light bodied with high carbonation; way overcarbonated. Bitter finish with dry bitter baking cocoa, burnt plastic, moss, earth, burnt coffee grounds. Not awesome.
