Paul and Angus, the founding partners, have come together to create a selection of ales that provides a genuine balance of old and new. All our beers are all crafted using cutting edge techniques and equipment to ensure flawless quality, consistency and great depth of taste. There were really only three things on the agenda: Quality, Quality, and Quality.

Keg @ Trades Club, Hebden Bridge. Amber with a copper edge to it. Has a thin head with a full bodied tropical fruitiness in its taste.

Cask @ Smithfield Hotel, Manchester. Not quite black, but looks it, with a creamy off-white head. Has a light roasted malt aroma and taste but within an extremely nice smoothish texture.

Cask gravity at the Watford beer fest 2014. Aroma is honey malt, floral honeysuckle. Floral. Golden colour with no head. Flavour is honey, nuttu malt, semi sweet, floral hop, hedgerow. Palate is semi sweet, moderate cask condition. OK.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 6/10/2014. Amber with a slight, off-white, head. Easy drinking bitter, with some orange fruits, grassy hops and moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask @ Bree Louise, Euston NW1. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty weak citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty weak hoppy citrus flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy finish.

Cask gravity at Bexley BF 2014. Bottled and drunk on the train home. Clear amber lasting beige head. Good condition. Decent amber malt and ok bitter hop. A decent amber. Not too adventurous but white pepper finish is decent.

Cask at the Reading beer festival. Gold colour. As a mid-session refresher it felt like what lagers are designed for. Buttery, yes, but with lemon hints and a light body this was the right thing at the right time. However I doubt I’d like it so much if I encountered it at another time of night and outside a festival.

Cask @ Ring O’ Bells, Halifax. Golden with a smooth head. Hoppy aroma, fairly neutral in its taste with a very light fruitiness.

cask at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear, yellow-gold with with a frothy white head. Musty pale malts on the nose, some cereal, hay, pale bread. Light sweet flavor with more bready pale malts, biscuits, faint bitter straw, hints of cereal and grass. Light bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Sweet finish with lightly sugary white bread, biscuits, hay, hints of lemon, straw, cereal. Tasty enough though a bit simple.
