Description
Odd Side Ales is a family of gifted individuals, focused on the shared goal of crafting unique products, while maintaining the utmost quality.

Our story began in 2010, as a micro-brewery producing craft beer from our pub located inside the historic piano factory in Grand Haven, Michigan. We quickly outgrew the pub’s brewing capacity and now, after three different expansions, brew from our own 44,000 sq. ft. facility.

Our main focus is to creatively stay on the leading edge of craft beer styling. While maintaining a large core of year round and seasonal favorites, we strive to introduce new recipes that push the boundaries of flavor combinations and craft beer categories. Everyone at Odd Side Ales is here because they have a true love of craft beer, the industry as a whole, and the people who drink and enjoy what we are able to do each day!

Beyond Michigan, we now distribute to Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. We hope to continue our growth, expanding our reach even further, and share our craft as far as possible!

Smells fruity. Purs golden with great lacing. Medium to high carbonation. Not as much leave, only a little bitter. Some sourness. Good session IPA. On tap at Hopcat.

Great initial smell of mocha here. Flavour doesn’t quite bring a Mayan apocalypse of taste, but the beer is still pretty good. No head, pours syrupy black. Aromas also of malt. Taste of bitterness and good dose of spice - that’s the Mexican heat I guess. Tap from Hopcat.

Bottle I picked up on Black Friday at the brewery. I had it on tap, didn’t rate it, so here goes. Pours a deep but somewhat thin dark brown with very little head. Aromas are boozy with lots of dark fruit and bourbon. Flavor is more of the same, but since it has so little carbonation, it comes across as a little odd. It’s thin for the style, but still yummy.

Draft. I agree with the brewer’s description; it overlaps the pale ale and IPA styles. It is more malty and less hoppy than an IPA. Crisp, slightly sweet, bitter.

On tap at Odd Side. The first sample was an opaque amber but the growler was pretty clear. Totally opaque. Decent head and aromas of super damn hell yes tropical fruit. Pineapple, passion fruit, mango, cantelope. Flavor is sweet and fruity. Hells yes!!
