Description
Burdock brewery set up shop in what used to be an old Portuguese chicken restaurant, and they transformed the space into an artist-driven bar/restaurant/music hall/microbrewery run by a group of musicians and music lovers. They offer a rotating list of clean pale ales, complex saisons, crisp pilsners, zippy sours, and beer-wine hybrids that are all brewed in house.

Cloudy blond color with no head. Delicate mango aroma. Dry mouthfeel, a bit salty, moderately sour, wheat bread, light fruit, but nothing impressive.

500mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a cloudy mango yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out juicy mangoes upfront, with a touch of lacto further back. Flavour is quite juicy, with fresh mangoes, some earthy notes, and light lacto. Not as juicy as the Strawberry Rhubarb, but it works very well. Nice stuff.

500mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a cloudy blonde with a medium white head. Aroma brings out lots of strawberries upfront, followed by light lacto and some juiciness. Flavour is super juicy, with loads of strawberries and rhubarb dominating. Juicy, lacto-y on the finish. Very nice.

Cloudy pale color with an orange shade. Very nice aroma, apple/rhubarb pie, doughy bread. Light and weak, but with a good degree of lemony acidity, light fruits, and a bread dough touch that shouldn’t be there but doesn’t disturb too much.
Pleasant.

This has a pale salmon colour, with a thin head. There are some harsh phenols on this - sort of a toasted bike tire thing, with a hint of rhubarb. There is a night fruitiness - lots of tart rhubarb goodness. The strawberry is basically light on this one.

Cloudy pale pinkish color. Surely it has some raspberry aroma, light yeast too. Smooth, mild but nice raspberry juice flavor, moderately tart, light spices.
Sensibly brewed. Nice.

Cloudy pale blond color. Overly carbonated, overly dry, the aroma shows some delicate flowery hops, but the body is missing, too thin, and no specific flavor.

Cloudy pale blond color. Nice citrusy hops aroma. The mouthfeel is lean but not too dry, crackery malts, and very resiny hops.
Very good Pale Ale.
