Scopey 5K Tasting in deepest Croydonia. Thanks to the 5K man. Hazy dark amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is airy and light. Mild fine carbonation. Light.sweet fluffy malt, a little cream. Light candy fruits. Little marmalade and citrus. Finishes light. Not bad.

Bottle split at Scopey’s 5K Extravaganza of Oompah Band meets doorbell music, thanks to Don Paulo - 15/02/14. Hazed orange amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is bitter orange peel, citric rindings, straw. Taste comprises tangy citrics, red grapefruit, yuzu, orange pith, straw, mandarin, peach, light bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Nice offering.

Bottle at my 5k. It pours deep amber with a thick light tan head. The nose is earth, orange peel, mandarin, candied peel, sherbet and orange sponge cake. The taste is crisp, doughy, orange, candied peel, toast, spice and good bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Well rounded and flavoursome.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Hazy brown body with a large off-white head. Lively carbonation. Excellent lacing. Wonderful aroma of vine tomatoes, grapefruit, candy and dark cherries. Flavour of pineapple and yeast. Quite boozy. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. I’m not getting much wheat in this, but who cares, it’s delicious. A beer brings that something new with each sip.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Hazy golden body with a large off-white head. Lively carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of sour lime, grapefruit, lemon juice and cream soda. Flavour of pineapple and tangy yeast with the faintest hint of spice. Medium body with a dry, sticky mouthfeel. Nice fizz. A citrus explosion not quite balanced out by the Belgian yeast and spice notes.

330ml bottle from Great Grog. Pours clear amber, thick white head. Aromas are surprisingly light, citrus and pine, some yeast. Taste is balanced, but I expected more oomph! Perhaps the bar was set to high with the Cuvee d’Oscar thing, which was amazing. This is just good, in comparison.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours clear light brown, thin off-white head. Big floral nose, lots of passion fruit too. Taste has a good bitterness, not really getting any wheat anywhere. Splendid last beer of the night though.

Bottle 0.375l, thanks to Pade. BBE 16042015. Colour is light brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, berries, sourness, yeast, grain and some sweetness. Quite weird.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, mild wooden notes as well as some sweaty socks. Flavour is fruity, mild yeasty notes, wheat and a bunch of nectar. Sweet alcohol in the finish as well.
