On pourra dire ce que l'on veut...du Brett...c'est du Brett...et il prend souvent l'ascendant sur les autres arômes. Ce Black Market Pinoir Noire est donc décevant. Pourtant avec un vieillissement en fut de Chassagne Montrachet, et en houblon Simcoe et Tomahawk, il y avait à la fois de l'idée et une certaine promesse pour ce stout. C'étati sans compter le Brett. Noir total avec une belle mousse beige et crémeuse d'1/2 cm en verre, pas mal du tout. Le nez est sur le vinaigre, le raisin, le malt toréfié et un brin de chocolat. L'attaque est sur l'aidité, on y retrouve les arômes présents au nez mais sans que ceux ci arrivent pleinement às'exprimer. La deuxième bouche est un peu moins acide et une peu plus vineuse avec des nuances de porto. L'arrière bouche par contre est moins intéressante, purement sur l'acidité. La corpulence est d'ailleurs relativement faible. Sur la troisième bouche et le final (pas assez long), le brett se fait avant tout ressentir, allié à des notes de malt torréfiés ayant des difficultés à s'exprimer. Tout ce travail pour cela....

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk on a train. Hazy gold colour lasting white head. Yes a very hoppy Belgian blonde. Good start to the day. Some sweetness some esters lots of bitter grapefruit hop on the finish. I liked it.

Bottle split at Bodney, thanks to Danny, 12/04/18. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is mellow roast, light spice, toffee, vanilla, sweet fruits. Taste comprises cocoa powder, earthy fruit rinds, dark malts, toffee, light black peppery spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stout.

Bottle at Bodney - thanks to Dan. It pours hazy deep brown with a small beige head. The aroma is soft, sweet, juicy, oily, vinous, tangy fruits, dried berry, marshmallow and toasted brioche. The taste is slick ,wood, toasty grain, roasted malt, charred wood, marshmallow, peppery spice and cocoa with a drying finish. Nice aroma, but it comes across a bit charred. Decent anyhow.

Bottle shared in Hackney - cheers to Danny. Pours black-brown with a foamy, off-white head. The nose holds choclate,ate, brownies, dried berries, earth. Light to medium sweet flavour with toasted marshmallows, scorched earth. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Balanced finish, some toasted brown bread, mellow cocoa, soft earthy bitterness. Very drinkable.

Bottle shared at Leightons place 12/04/2018. Many thanks. Nutty brown malts coloured pour with a lasting a fine white head. Aroma is sweet nutty marshmallow, jammy fruit, chocolate, woody. Palate is semi sweet, grainy, oily, meh. Meh.

Bodney Bier Huis bottleshare. Thanks to Dan. Semi opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, little cream overpowered by bitter thin tangy dark chocolate. Bitter floral dry finish. Nothing here I like.
